June is a big month in the Mekler household. Our wedding anniversary is at the beginning of the month, and then our dating anniversary is at the very end. You may be judging us for continuing to celebrate our dating anniversary after we got married, but I don’t really care. We like celebrating things and you can’t take that away from us. Plus, this year was a big one. As of June 29th, we’ve been together for ten years! So instead of doing a nice dinner, we decided to spend the weekend in Idyllwild. Idyllwild is a little mountain town a couple of hours from Los Angeles (quite close to Palm Springs, actually). There’s not a whole lot going on there, but we’d been dying to check out Hicksville Pines Bud & Breakfast, and there’s plenty of hiking. Plus, the town’s mayor is a golden retriever, so you know it’s a quality place.
