With the exception of one college cooking class, I don’t have any formal culinary training. I rely on my intuition, and the skills and flavor pairings I’ve picked up from different cookbooks over the years. When I first started cooking, I relied mostly on recipes I found on Pinterest. These definitely sparked an interest in cooking, but it didn’t take long for me to outgrow them. Don’t get me wrong – there are some incredible cooking blogs out there. In fact, I hope to join their rankings. But it can be very hard to parse the good from the bad based on a lone image.
