Lemon Rose Sugar Scrub

Lemon Rose Sugar Scrub

Since we’re all washing our hands approximately 90 million times a day right now, I thought it’d be nice to have a little something to refresh them with. Enter: lemon rose sugar scrub. Now I know you usually expect food recipes from me, but this is more of a craft situation, so I’m sorry to disappoint. But it’s hard to recipe test when you’re quarantining and your grocery deliveries arrive with like a quarter of the things you ordered. So here we are!

This gentle sugar scrub is real versatile. You can use it on your hands, you feet, or pretty much anywhere on your body. If you omit the essential oil you could even eat it! Though like, honestly, why would you do that?

It’s also easy to make with pantry staples. If you have rose petals in your pantry, that is. If not, you can totally leave them out! They’re a nice addition, but the scrub will work just as well without them.

Before I get into how to make this simple scrub, I’ve got a bit of an announcement! If you follow me on Instagram or know me in real life, you probably already know this, but I’m pregnant!

Leisure Fan Club Pregnancy Announcement

A few friends have asked what this meant for my blog. “Will you go full mommy blog?!” Well… no. I don’t intend to go full mommy blog. That said, this space is a reflection of my life, so as that changes, so will the blog. I’ve always resisted niches, though, so what else is new? Going forward, you can still expect recipes, travel, beauty and lifestyle content. You just might also get a bit of pregnancy and baby related content! We’ll see what happens.

Also, while I’m confessing to things, I’ve got another one to make. I’ve got a very early and annoying case of gestational diabetes. So if you’re wondering why my recent recipes all seem to be low carb, that would be why. It’s something that I want to be honest and open about, because it’s scary and there aren’t a lot of good resources on the topic. Especially when you’re diagnosed with it super early. So I’m going to strive to be transparent and to share the knowledge I pick up along the way.

Anyway, that’s the other reason why I was looking to purge my baking cabinet of regular old sugar with a non-edible recipe.
