Spiced Pear Cider with Brandy

Jump to Recipe

One of the greatest things about fall is ghosts cozy warm cocktails. They just hit different, y’know? Sitting on the couch drinking a mulled cider or a hot toddy after a long day is a vibe. It’s like being in your thirties. You don’t have anything to prove to anyone – you just want to be comfortable. So to kick off watching spooky movies on the couch season, I’ve got a new boozy warm beverage for you. It’s a spiced pear cider with brandy inspired by poached pears. I really don’t think that pears get enough love during the fall. Hopefully this helps change that, because they’re a really wonderful seasonal fruit.

How many drinks does this make?

This recipe makes two drinks. If you want to make a larger amount (say, for a small group of people), go ahead and double, triple, quadruple, etc. On the other hand, if you’re just making a drink for yourself, I’d still recommend making the double portion. This drink takes a little bit of time to make, so it’s nice to have an extra on deck! If you don’t end up drinking the second, you can always pop it in the fridge for later.

Making this for a bigger group and want it to stay warm for a while?

When I do this I like to pour it into a crockpot to keep it warm. Alternately, you can keep it in a pot on the stove on low heat. Or if you’re just making one for yourself and happen to have an Ember (or some other self warming mug), absolutely use that.
