Summer Empties Part 2

Summer Empties Part Two

To be completely honest, I didn’t plan on doing another empties post quite so soon. But as I was scrambling for a post idea this past weekend I realized that I was once again running out of basically everything I own. And you guys seemed to like the first one! So I figured why not?

For anyone who missed part one of this little series, an empties post is where I write about beauty products that I’ve used up. That way, I can give you an honest review that’s based on more than 36 seconds of usage.

A quick disclaimer: this post contains affiliate links. That means that if you purchase something through one of my links, I’ll get a small cut. Rest assured, though: nothing here is sponsored, and all of my opinions are completely honest!

Summer Empties Part 2

Fenty Pro Kiss’r Lip Loving Scrub Stick

I’m willing to admit that I may have a bit of a lip product addiction. That said, I’m obsessed with this stuff. Unlike standard lip balms, this one is… sandy. That’s because it’s full of apricot seeds that help exfoliate your lips. I’ve used lip scrubs before, but this one rises above the rest because it’s super moisturizing. I also love that it comes in a stick, because I’d really rather not jam my finger into a tub of sandy lip goop. The tube situation also makes this a great travel product!

Fenty Match Stix

In case you can’t tell, I’m a big fan of Fenty. I use this stick in amber on the daily for some light and lazy contouring. A few swipes of this stick makes it look like I put a lot more effort into my face than I actually did. I’ve found that this light formula works well over foundation or cc cream, and has some pretty legit staying power. This line also has an impressive shade range, and is available in shimmer and concealer versions!

Laritzy Halo Light Stix

As we all now know, I love a makeup stick. Highlight is no exception. I got this highlight stick from a subscription box a while back. If I’m being honest, it’s nothing special, but it’s a decent daytime formula. I used it up because it didn’t offend my sensibilities, but since there are so many incredible highlights on the market I probably wouldn’t repurchase it.

Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser

I’ve bought this stuff about a million times. I love it. I use it as the second step of a double cleansing routine (the first step is Josie Maran Cleansing Oil!), and it works really well for me. This gentle cleanser removes makeup and dirt, and leaves my face feeling like a dream. It’s also available in a mini, which is rad since I try not to disrupt my skincare routine too much while traveling.

Kevyn Aucoin The Volume Mascara

This product worked great for me until it didn’t. I have trouble with mascara because I’m plagued with allergies during the spring and summer. As it turns out, mascara isn’t a great match for rubbing your watery, angry eyes 3454364 times a day. Most formulas run, and the waterproof ones tend to irritate my eyes.

This one, however, was different. It’s a tubing mascara, meaning you can easily remove it with warm water. This formula also makes it drip off your lashes in little wormy tubes, which is a real fun time. I absolutely loved this product when I first started using it, but after a while, it too started to bother my sensitive little eyeballs. That said, it looks incredible on and I love that I didn’t have to use any makeup remover to get it off! It also didn’t give me raccoon eyes, which was a huge plus. So… I’d say it’s worth a try. If your eyes are less sensitive than mine, you’ll probably love it! And if not, Sephora has a great return policy.

And that’s it for empties part two!

Please pray that I don’t run out of anything else in the near future. As much as I enjoy sharing my empties, my bank account is not thrilled about having to replace all this stuff. But I hope you liked this post, and more importantly, I hope you found it helpful! If you have any questions or just want to discuss beauty products, leave a comment or reach out on Instagram!
