Guys. Leisure Fan Club turns one tomorrow!!! It’s been a wild ride. Seriously. I had no idea how much work starting a blog like this would be. As it turns out, crafting recipes, turning trips into coherent posts, and taking and editing my own photos is a lot. But it’s also a lot of fun.
When I started Leisure Fan Club, my goal was to give myself a creative outlet from my soul-sucking day job. It was a conscious effort to focus on the things that made me happy outside of work. I also had a feeling that I wasn’t the only person out there suffering through a job they hated just for the paycheck. I wanted to let those people know that they’re not alone. That they can still make a point of doing things they love, even if it’s just on nights and weekends.
And while I stand by that, this blog has also made me realize that when it comes to careers, I can do better. I’m still figuring out just what that means for me, but I guess all this is to say that if you spend 40+ hours a week at a job that makes you miserable, it could be worth it to figure out how to change that. And if you’re totally fine with having a job that doesn’t spark passion and just living your truth off the clock, that’s also valid and admirable!
I’ll stop doling out unsolicited advice now and get back to the point – Leisure Fan Club’s birthday. Over this past year, I’ve written a lot about food, travel, and beauty. I still don’t know how to interpret analytics, but I’ve gotten a lot of feedback from friends and acquaintances that’s made my heart sing. So thank you all for reading. And if you’ve ever shared your thoughts on posts with me, please know that I appreciate it so, so much.
So what’s next?
Well, my plan for this next year is to keep up the recipes and travel content. I also want to work in more lifestyle and LA focused posts. The latter will include activities that you can enjoy whether you live here or are just visiting. I really hope you like it! Regardless, I’d love any feedback, and if you make one of my recipes it’d make me SO happy if you’d tag me in any pictures you post!
And now, I’ll leave you with a few (ok, 10) of my favorite recipe posts from the last year!
